Reading –  Students will continue to learn Guided Reading procedures.  Their reading will be assessed using a Diagnostic        Reading Assessment.  The first quarter benchmark English Language Arts pretest will be administered.

Spelling  - Students will practice using the Spelling Menu for homework.  Spelling words for this week are: first, second,                         third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth.

Writing  - Students will continue to learn Writing Workshop procedures and compose their first piece by following the                              Writing Process.  Please send in pictures by Wednesday.    

Math – Students will continue to learn procedures for Guided Math while reviewing second grade concepts.  The first             quarter benchmark Mathematics pretest will be administered.

Social Studies – Students will begin to identify character traits and beliefs of the influential Americans they will learn                                     about throughout the year.

·         August 27^th, Circus Theme Puppet Show and Georgia Charter Schools presentation, 5:00pm and 6:30 pm (two shows)
