Reading – Students will begin our author study on John Scieszka.  Our focus will be establishing point of view, identifying similarities and differences, and determining meaning from context clues.

Spelling  - Spelling words for this week are: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December

Writing  - Students will begin our unit on opinion (persuasive) writing.  We will be working on generating ideas and using appropriate capitalization.   

Math Students will continue reviewing place value by practicing estimation strategies (rounding to the nearest 10 and nearest 100) Explore our textbook’s website.  There are lots of activities and fun games!  http://www.eharcourtschool.com
