This week was jam packed! We had COGAT testing in the morning, you should give your students a big hug for making it through that! It is long and drawn out and many times boring for the students. So many are worried about their performance on the test before it even begins. We took some brain breaks in between sections and I had them move to release some tension. We have 4 more days of ITBS testing next week, so keep making sure they have breakfast and plenty of rest!
We also started Ancient Greece, continued Fairy Tales, reviewed math addition, rounding, and rocks and minerals. I love that students brought in rocks, it really helped with our observation of rocks and minerals.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all the playground toys! The students are very happy to have some equipment to play with!
The only homework for this week will be the reading log. Please make sure your child is reading at least 20 minutes a night. The summary of what they are reading is important because that shows me how they are comprehending what they are reading.
Look for Class Dojo (our behavior management system) info this week. You will be able to sign in and see how your student is doing and when they lose points and when they gain points. You should get an email with information.
I believe that sums up this week! Have a great weekend and plenty of rest for testing next week!
